Education and Experience

Dr. Mailey earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Loyola University before completing his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He went on to complete a general surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine, followed by a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Further advancing his surgical training, Dr. Mailey completed prestigious fellowships at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center and at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a nationally recognized leader in plastic surgery education. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Mailey has demonstrated a deep commitment to academic medicine and surgical excellence. He served as an associate professor and division chief of plastic surgery in the Department of Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he mentored and trained the next generation of plastic surgeons. Dr. Mailey brings extensive experience in a range of surgical procedures, with particular expertise in aesthetic plastic surgery, hand surgery, and facial reconstruction. His diverse background and dedication to innovation and patient care continue to distinguish him in the field of plastic surgery.
